FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shadowy New Book from Ireland Casts New Light on its Most Haunted Home
FETHARD-ON-SEA, Co. Wexford, Ireland, 23 July 2018 -- A new book released on 23/06/2018, Loftus: The Hall of Dreams is a historical revision of Loftus Hall's dark history, written as a classic gothic novel. The writing of the book coincides with the Hall's 666th anniversary and illuminates the rich Irish history of not only the building but the surrounding landscape.
The work is the creation of author Helena B. Scott and photographer Steve Meyler. It is a collaboration two and a half years in the making, after thorough research and investigation. It was begun after Helena published a short story about the Hall on its official blog, capturing the attention of Steve Meyler. The creators revisited the Hall's legends, in the process unearthing new facts that brought the old stories into question.
Loftus: The Hall of Dreams is physically designed with the serious collector in mind. It is presently available as a signed limited edition only, with a cloth embossed hard cover that features the Loftus coat of arms and silver-foil stamping on the spine. It is printed on 170gsm art silk paper, that contains 116 black and white figurative photographs measuring 255mm x 205mm. These are interspersed with a gothic story that speaks of immortal love, loss, the mysteries of the Otherworld, ancient secrets and the depths of the human spirit. The fonts chosen for the cover and some of the inside pages are reminiscent of the actual handwriting of relevant Loftus family members (as seen in the original family documents which date back to almost 300 years ago).
Helena and Steve have hosted a series of exclusive, selected book signings at the Hall since the initial launch date. The signings afford locals and visitors to the Hook Peninsula an opportunity to procure one of the limited, numbered, and signed copies direct from the creators. Visitors are able to interact with Helena and Steve at these events. The next signing will be taking place at Loftus Hall on 12 August, 2018, starting at 2 p.m. local time, Co. Wexford, Ireland.
